"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Ephesians 6:12
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8
"Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”"
1 Corinthians 15:33
There was a period of time in my life where I took my eyes off of my Savior. I forgot that I was a public figure and that there was a target on my back. I got in the habit of doing "ministry" instead of living my relationship with Christ. I slowly got cold and took my eyes off of God. The battle for my life was real. As a Christian, Satan knows he cannot have me but he could render me useless. Satan took a weakness and at just the right moment he attacked.
With a repentant heart, I submitted to God, church authority and my wife and went through a process to make things right in my life. What Satan used to try to destroy me, God used to rebuild and restore me. God is in the business of taking broken people and glorifying himself through offering forgiveness and restoration to those who are willing to confess their sins and repent and follow God once again.
My story may appear as a story of disappointment but as you continue to follow my story, it is a story of victory. Victory over sin. It is the story of a broken man that has allowed Jesus to rebuild his life and has allowed me to return back into full time ministry. All the glory goes to God for his forgiveness and restoration. It is all Him!
"“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate." Luke 15:21-23
Today, I am a stronger man. I am a better husband. I am a better worship leader. I owe it all to the blood of Christ that was shed for me on the cross.
God is certainly a God of restoration. I am living proof.
My secret was killing me. I kept thinking as I researched statistics, there are people sitting in the 12th row of every church in America who is holding on to a secret of some sorts that is eating away at each one of them. My passion was to do something to try to reach them. The church should be a place like a hospital where if you are sick, you run to the church for help. The church is not that today. People are afraid to confess their secrets to the church. I know why! I am committed to working with churches to help them meet the needs of those who are holding onto a secret.
My desire was to see God be gloried in my life once again. As I was awake one night, I envisioned a music ministry that shared my story and the forgiveness of my Savior. My wife encouraged me to get my feelings out in song form. I woke up one morning and God gave me three great new songs of brokenness and restoration. As I put these songs together along with my current song list, a new vision for a concert ministry was born.
My concerts today are a culmination of all of these factors and they are a great experience from the brokenness, to the forgiveness, to the hope that God can use you one day again.
They have the theme of, "What Satan did to try to destroy me, God used to rebuild and restore me." These concerts to me are extremely fulfilling and it is great to see God break other lives in the audiences of my concerts.
We all have something that is destroying us. It is a either a secret we are holding on to that is eating away at you or it is simply unconfessed sin.
Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive us of all of our sins. He desires to forgive you and give you hope that He will sustain you and that He will use you to glorify Him. This is only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you are involved in a destructive lifestyle or if you are carrying around a secret that is killing you. You must come forward for help. I am more than willing to talk with you. Contact me.
