Bob began his music career at the age of 16 leading worship at his local youth group in Anaheim Hills, California in 1982. His youth group was without a worship leader and he stepped in and made himself available and his life was changed forever. He felt fulfillment in playing for others and leading others in worship. A deep love for music grew throughout his high school years at El Modena High School (class of 84') and after an attempt to make a living playing baseball, he found himself at Fullerton College as a music major. Bob transferred to Cal. State Fullerton and graduated with a degree in Speech Communication. During the end of his college career, he joined the staff at Calvary Church of Santa Ana where he worked with high school students teaching them how to play in bands and how to work with each other leading worship. He was also used to form a contemporary worship service on Sunday nights that helped shape the future of worship at Calvary Church.
In 1992, Bob became a worship leader at Hume Lake Christian Camp. He eventually led music for 5 summers and 1 winter leading music for thousands of kids throughout his 5 years at Hume. During this time, God opened up many doors throughout the United States that allowed Bob to travel from coast to coast. Bob was involved in many concerts, retreats, camps and conferences from 1992 through 1996 and in the peak of his career in 95' and 96', he was on the road for more than 200 days per year.
In the Fall of 1996, Bob felt a burden to get off the road. He took a job as the Junior High Director and Director of Saturday Night Worship at a local church in Bakersfield, California. His music career settled down for a bit during this time and after being on the road for so long, he felt that investing in the local body of believers was a great thing to do. He developed roots and settled down building relationships with many great people in the City of Bakersfield. Bob continued traveling doing a few concerts and retreats a year and met his wife, Heidi, at a teachers retreat at Forest Home Christian Camp in 1998.
In March of 2004, Bob said goodbye to junior high ministry to move back into full time music. He became the worship leader at the Saturday Night Service at his church. In October of 04', he went commercial by opening up Crystal Clear Project Studio and enjoyed a career in studio engineering and video editing. Shortly after the birth of the recording studio, Bob found a market by selling custom guitars at Crystal Clear Custom Guitars.
In 2006, Bob was offered a position at Bakersfield Christian High School teaching guitar and working with student musicians in the chapel worship band. Bob is still teaching classes and working with the student led worship team for their weekly chapels.
In 2013, Bob began working on a new music ministry with a new organization called Celebration 15:24. Seeking to share the restoration power of God’s love, Bob wrote new music to share his story with audiences at many concerts. His goal is to give people hope that are holding onto destructive secrets that will ultimately destroy them by surrendering their sin to Jesus Christ.
In September of 2019, Bob began the ministry of WorshipBakersfield, com. This exciting ministry works with the youth of Bakersfield to impact the community through corporate worship events and worship training.
While working with WorshipBakersfield.com putting on community outreaches and youth training, In October of 2019, Bob took on the Worship Director at North Heights Baptist Church where he rejoined a ministry partnership with Mark and Christi Taber, whom he met back in 1996 where they sang together developing a new Saturday night worship service for Laurelglen Bible Church. See Bob's Ministry at North Heights right here.
Bob is still currently working on training youth worship teams all over Bakersfield. He is working with these teams to put on Worship Festivals and Services to promote the ministry of Worship Bakersfield's youth and adult training programs.
